This conference will present an integrated approach to the assessment and management of pain in Pediatric patients with special reference to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is an inherited connective tissue disorder that is often misdiagnosed or under diagnosed and is a complex disease that warrants a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. It is a common cause of chronic disabling myopathic, nociceptive and neuropathic pain in children and adults. Very often these patients present with pain which is attributed to other causes. EDS is also associated with multiple co-morbid conditions such as Chiari Malformation, chronic headaches, muscle and joint pain, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS/RSD) POTS and Tethered Cord Syndrome.
